Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-E)

Enemark Larsen, B. Rasmussen, J. The active participation of clients is an important aspect of rehabilitation quality as conceptualized in client-centred practice CCP. We performed a scoping review in five steps: 1 identifying a search strategy with inclusion and exclusion criteria; 2 screening relevant databases for published and unpublished studies by using selected keywords and by manually scrutinizing reference lists; 3 agreeing on eligible papers between authors in terms of inclusion and exclusion criteria; 4 charting included data; and 5 analysing data using qualitative content analysis. Twelve studies were included in the review. The active participation of clients is an important aspect of the quality of rehabilitation processes and the aim in healthcare institutions around the world [ 1 , 2 ]. Similar in Denmark, since , the hospital staff have endeavoured the active involvement of clients through a systematic collection of information from clients about their experiences during rehabilitation [ 3 ].

The focus of this thesis was to understand the influence of a conceptual model of practice upon occupational therapists in a British health and social care setting. The research focused upon a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between individual factors and the case being examined. This required examination of three sources of data, namely meeting minutes, artefacts and participant interviews. Each was examined separately and then themes from all three units were examined to identify themes from across the dataset to understand inter-relationships to support the development of theoretical propositions and contribute to theory building. This study identified that use of a single model, the CMOP actively encouraged practice development in this county and was a dynamic and multifaceted social process.

Enhancing a Client-Centred Practice with the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure

Polatajko, H. Polatajko, Eds. The modelidentifies the main domains that the pr of ession has an interest in. Engagement wasadded as a conceptual advancement on the original model as it was identified as animportant aspect of human occupation. This advancement was necessitated by thecurrent developments and improvements in knowledge of occupation-based, clientcentred and evidence-based occupational therapy practice.

The interaction between the person, environment and occupation results in occupational performance, which is the ability of a person to perform occupations and daily engagements. This expansion is related to how this model can be used to enable clients to choose and perform their meaningful occupation in their environment. The client can also give scores to the level of satisfaction and performance of those identified difficult occupations. This will help occupational therapists to develop client-centered treatment plan, and it will also allow the client to engage in treatment planning and increase their motivation and compliance in treatment.
